“Keep Garland Beautiful is one of our great local NPOs that gives so much to our community. All their activities lead to a deeper appreciation of nature within our urban environment.”

Liz Barry — President Emeritus, Founding Member of Loving Garland Green (LGG)

Keep Garland Beautiful has assisted in the design and/or installation of 8 Monarch butterfly gardens in the city. Several of these butterfly gardens have been designated as Monarch Waystations by monarchwatch.org. Keep Garland Beautiful actively maintains two of these gardens. Below are maps to three of Garland’s butterfly gardens.

What are they saying about us?

“I’ve volunteered with this amazing group of people to conduct the annual litter index for Garland. From the beginning, they made me feel welcomed and informed. While we carried out the project, I learned and observed several new things about our neighborhoods that I hadn’t before.”

Ximena Coronado — Student, Environmental Advocate

“Keep Garland Beautiful is a dedicated group of volunteers that not only make a difference in the appearance of our City but also the health of those living here. I am grateful for their efforts. By partnering with our City departments on projects, Keep Garland Beautiful organizes litter clean-ups, teaches composting classes, installs monarch butterfly gardens, and contributes in many other ways to our community.”

Scott LeMay — Mayor, City of Garland

“Keep Garland Beautiful has been a cheerfully cooperative and creative partner in inaugurating our monarch waystation, strategizing the layout of our garden but handpicking high quality native plants, and supervising installation. Keep Garland Beautiful is a forward-thinking beacon in our community to help our city stay properly focused on our environment and to spur citizens to be good stewards of our surroundings.”

Kay Wheeler Moore — Friends of Garland’s Historic Magic 11th Street
